We recommend scheduling your move as soon as you have a confirmed moving date. Popular moving times, such as weekends and peak seasons, tend to book quickly, so securing your date in advance will help ensure availability and allow ample time for planning and preparation.

Movers are regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and are required to provide limited liability coverage for your household goods. 

However, it is important to note that this coverage not offer a full replacement protection. In the unfortunate event of damage or loss, the moving company is typically only responsible for compensating you at a rate of “$0.60 per pound per article,” as mandated by legal regulations. This means that the amount you would receive for a damaged item may not reflect its true value. For example, let’s consider a Tiffany lamp valued at $6000 that weighs only 20 pounds. Under the standard limited liability coverage, any moving company would only be responsible for compensating you $12 for the lamp. This is clearly insufficient to cover the true value of the item.
